Arrival Information

The Greyhound station is seven miles north of the city center at 505 W Burgess Rd; bus #10 links it to Pensacola proper. Pensacola is a stop on Amtrak's
Sunset Limited to LA; the train station is at 980 E Heinberg St. Local taxi firms include Yellow Cab (tel 904/433-3333). ECAT buses serve the city but not the beach; the main terminal is at 1515 W Fairfield Drive (tel 850/595-3228).

At the foot of the three-mile Pensacola Bay Bridge into the city (on the city side), the
visitor center, at 1401 E Gregory St (daily 8am-5pm; tel 1-800/874-1234), has the usual worthwhile handouts.

For
eating in town, try McGuire's Irish Pub, 600 E Gregory St (tel 850/433-6789); it serves up hearty portions and home-brewed ale. For beachside dining, at the Great Brit Inn, 49 Via De Luna Drive (tel 850/916-1288), get standard pub fare while gazing at the front ends of a Triumph TR6, a white MG and an old Jag that jut from the walls.
